Donation made during our 2009 Textile Heritage Week Celebration at the Upcountry Museum by Stan Morris. Stan made the donation of 6 Poe Mill script tokens ranging in value from 5 cents to one dollar. Mr. Darrell Allred, Stan’s uncle and former employee of Poe, who now lives in Greensboro had previously owned the coins. The coins were issued during the 1930’s Depression for employees to use at the Poe Company Store.
